Railways Announce Reforms Ahead of Holi

The Ministry of Railways has introduced major reforms ahead of Holi, including permanent outside waiting areas, wider foot over bridges, and the installation of numerous CCTV cameras at 60 key stations across India. According to an official statement, only passengers with valid or waiting tickets will be permitted entry into railway stations, with security protocols similar to those at airports. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw discussed crowd control measures with senior officials, aiming to manage heavy footfall during the festive season. These reforms draw inspiration from successful arrangements implemented at nine stations in Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh. (indiatvnews)
