Nala Renewables Buys Onshore Wind Project from OX2
Commodity trader Trafigura's Nala Renewables, a joint venture equally owned by Trafigura and funds managed by IFM Investors, has finalized the acquisition of a significant 99.2 megawatt (MW) onshore wind project situated in eastern Romania. This project was previously held by the renewable energy company OX2.
Trafigura announced that this acquisition represents Nala Renewables' third investment in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) within the current year. While the company refrained from disclosing the financial terms of the deal, it emphasized that Nala Renewables now manages over 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects in the region.
The construction phase of this new wind project is slated to begin in the third quarter of the current year. The development will feature a total of 16 wind turbines of the Vestas V162-6.2 MW model. The operational testing of these turbines is projected to commence in the first half of 2026.
