NCR Conciliation Forum resolved over 1,150 disputes of Rs 345 cr

The National Capital Region (NCR) Conciliation Forum of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) told the media that it had resolved over 1,150 disputes between homebuyers and developers worth Rs 345 crore so far.

According to the UP-RERA, most of the disputes were from the allottees of the projects in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Bulandshahr.

Many complaints were related to the delay in the registered sale deed, allotment of car parking slots, possession of the units to the allottees, power backup, shortcomings in project maintenance, matters of payment of interest on account of delay in possession, etc.

The Authority said that the NCR Conciliation Forum, with the constructive cooperation of the associations of the allottees and the promoters, has resolved over 1,150 disputes involving properties worth over Rs 345 crore through amicable settlement by the parties.

R D Paliwal, Conciliator at UP-RERA, said that the forum is the easiest way to resolve disputes of the home buyers under which the resolution brings the promoter and the consumer on a single platform, after having a detailed discussion and negotiation between the parties, in presence of the representatives of the allottees and the promoters, and moderation by the Conciliator.

He added that the entire model is a preferred time-saving dispute resolution process by the consumers and promoters.

According to UP-RERA, allottees can apply their cases online on their conciliation forum website.

Chairman of UP-RERA Rajive Kumar said consumer disputes are resolved through a mutual agreement under the aegis of the forum by balancing the conflicting views and interests of both parties.

He called upon the stakeholders to use the conciliation forum offices for resolving disputes.
