New Town Kolkata Development Authority starts property tax camps


The New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) has opened a special camp in the city to help residents of the New Town area clarify their property tax issues and clear dues.

This NKDA special camp, which got underway on 15 March, will continue till 31 March.

NKDA officials told the media that they were receiving complaints from people facing problems while paying tax online and that many residents were receiving notices demanding double tax payments.

The ongoing camp at NKDA Bhavan will be open till 2 pm every day. According to NKDA officials, in the last three days, 229 people came to the camp with their concerns.

An official told the media that the helpdesk is provided to help residents pay their tax on time and clarify issues that often arise while paying online as tax is assessed and processed based on self-assessment and declaration.
