NTPC Renewable Energy Wins Solar Power Project from UPPCL
NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), has emerged victorious in securing a 1,000 MW solar power project from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) through a competitive bidding process. The project was awarded at a tariff of Rs 2.56/kWh, with the letter of award from UPPCL expected to be issued shortly.
This win was part of UPPCL’s e-reverse auction conducted on January 3, 2025, aimed at selecting developers for 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects across India. NTPC REL’s success in this bidding round reinforces its position as a leader in the solar energy sector and marks a significant milestone in NTPC’s overall renewable energy expansion strategy.
The development of this large-scale solar project aligns with India’s national objectives to increase its renewable energy capacity and reduce carbon emissions. NTPC’s continued success in securing renewable projects highlights its strong capabilities in bidding for and executing large-scale clean energy initiatives.
