PM Inaugurates Rs 47.6 Billion Projects in Kanpur
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs
47.6 billion in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. These include metro expansion, thermal
power plants, expressways, and defence corridor infrastructure.
Addressing the public, he honoured the late
Shri Shubham Dwivedi and highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor. He
stated that India will strike back at terrorism with force, regardless of
nuclear threats, and will not differentiate between terror groups and their
host governments.
He emphasised India’s defence
self-sufficiency, with homegrown missiles like BrahMos playing a key role. The
production of AK-203 rifles in Amethi and the new defence corridor in Uttar
Pradesh signal India’s progress under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Several power projects were inaugurated,
including 660 MW units in Panki, Neyveli, Jawaharpur, Obra-C, and Khurja. Metro
connectivity now extends to Kanpur Central with the Orange Line. An elevated
rail corridor worth Rs one billion will ease traffic in the
Farrukhabad–Anwarganj section.
He also announced road improvements, a 40
MLD sewage treatment plant, and industrial connectivity projects. MSMEs and
leather industries will benefit from credit schemes, tax reforms, and the One
District, One Product initiative.
