PM Lays Foundation Stone for New Terminal at Hisar Airport


Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport, Hisar, Haryana, on 14 April 2025, marking a significant step in enhancing regional air connectivity. The new infrastructure is being developed at a cost of over Rs 4.1 Bn.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister also flagged off a commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya, symbolising a spiritual and cultural connection between the land of Shri Krishna and Lord Ram. He announced that more flight routes from Hisar will commence soon.The terminal will include a state-of-the-art passenger facility, cargo terminal, and an ATC building. The overall airport redevelopment has been undertaken at a cost of Rs 15 Bn over the past five years.

The Prime Minister highlighted the rapid growth in India’s aviation sector, stating that the number of airports has doubled from 74 to over 150 since 2014. Nearly 90 aerodromes have been connected under the UDAN scheme, with over 600 regional routes now operational. PM Modi emphasised that connectivity and social welfare are at the heart of his government’s development strategy.
