An official stated, "On June 10, we are planning to commence the northbound carriageway from Marine Drive up to Haji Ali. The remaining section up to the Bandra Worli Sea Link will be completed by October 2024." This contrasted with previous announcements by politicians and civic officials who had initially promised the road's full opening by May 31, 2024.

During his media address, Shinde stated, "Even though leakage is occurring through only 2-3 expansion joints, I have directed the civic administration to perform injection grouting at these joints to seal the seepage and provide a permanent solution. The main structure is completely safe, and the upcoming rains should not pose a concern for continued leakage. The work to seal the leakage will be carried out while traffic continues."
