Shapoorji Pallonji Group plans merger of port holding companies
The Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group is contemplating the merger of its two port-holding entities, SP Imperial Star and SP Port Maintenance, which currently oversee Dharamtar and Gopalpur Ports, respectively.
Dharamtar Port has already been sold to JSW, while Gopalpur Port is poised for sale to Adani. The merger is set to be carried out through a scheme with the Company Law Tribunal (CLT), and the entire process is anticipated to take several months to finalise. (ET)
