Stalin launches projects worth Rs 3.5 Bn in Kolathur


Chief Minister M K Stalin laid the foundation stone for multiple projects worth Rs 355.2 crore in his Kolathur constituency on Monday during an inspection tour. The Chief Minister visited the construction site of a 230/33 kV Tangedco substation in Ganesh Nagar, Kolathur, which is being developed for Rs 1.10 billion and is expected to benefit residents of Periyar Nagar, Annai Nagar, Nermai Nagar, and Ganesh Nagar.

Later, he inspected the automated and odour-free sewage pumping station in Venus Nagar, which collects sewage from Venus Nagar and Jayanthi Nagar and pumps it to the Kadaparur pumping station, from where it is sent to the Kodungaiyur sewage treatment plant.

He also inaugurated new classrooms in a Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) school on School Road, as well as facilities at an ICDS centre in GKM Colony. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for a new GCC school in Srinivasa Nagar.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister visited the construction of a special hospital on the Government Peripheral Hospital campus in Periyar Nagar, which is being built at a cost of Rs 1 billion.
