The collaboration will allow SDHI and GRSE to combine their strengths in design, infrastructure, and project execution to create a scalable and cost-effective model for commercial vessel construction. The agreement aligns with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, focusing on self-reliance in strategic industrial sectors.

“This partnership paves the way for co-development of standard vessel platforms, coordinated project management, and sharing of shipbuilding infrastructure to reduce costs and turnaround times,” said an official spokesperson from SDHI.

The MoU also envisions development of a strong vendor base and supply chain ecosystem through shared sourcing and procurement strategies. An emphasis will be placed on skilling manpower, with the aim of supporting long-term growth in India’s maritime sector.

Additionally, the collaboration spans vessel trials, ship repairs, and infrastructure upgrades—laying the foundation for a sustainable and future-ready industrial model that drives economic growth and employment generation.
