TKIL Industries partners with KIS Group to expand into CBG production
TKIL Industries (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India) has entered the Bio-Chemicals sector as part of its business diversification strategy. The company has partnered with KIS Group, a leader in sustainable biofuel technology, to drive compressed biogas (CBG) production, supporting India’s energy transition and decarbonisation goals.
Through this collaboration, TKIL will leverage KIS Group’s advanced technology to maximize CBG production from sugar plant byproducts, distilleries, and other biomass sources. This initiative aligns with India’s target of reducing carbon emissions by 50 per cent and achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.
Vivek Bhatia, MD & CEO, TKIL Industries, stated, “Our partnership with KIS Group is a key step in our commitment to a low-carbon future. We aim to accelerate CBG development while exploring opportunities in other cleaner chemicals.”
Raghunath, Founder & CEO, KIS Group, added, “By combining our technology expertise with TKIL’s manufacturing strength, this collaboration will drive innovation and sustainability in India’s energy transition.”
With growing demand for renewable energy, biogas production from press mud, spent wash, and biomass is emerging as a viable alternative to fossil fuels. The Indian government’s policy push further reinforces its adoption, making biogas a strategic imperative for industries aiming to enhance sustainability and competitiveness.
