Truck, bus sales up 64 per cent to 65,540 units in April

Commercial vehicle (CV) sales advanced at a brisk pace in April YoY led by the pick-up in the infrastructure sector and economic activities.

According to monthly sales released data by the top five manufacturers including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra and Mahindra, Volvo Eicher and Maruti Suzuki India, the cumulative dispatches advanced 64.4 per cent to 65,540 units during the month.

While growth has been seen across segments, this sales push has been attributed to the small commercial vehicles namely those used in the last delivery which has registered a spike in popularity as the eCommerce firms have continued to remain strong.
