Blum has received the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) License IS 18297:2023 for its cabinet hinges, marking a key regulatory milestone for the global furniture fittings brand. While Blum hinge systems are already recognised worldwide for adherence to international quality norms, the BIS certification confirms compliance with Indian standards.
Nadeem Patni, Managing Director, Blum India, stated, “Blum hinges are already among the most exhaustively tested hinge systems in the market, holding the strongest market perception for quality. To now receive our very own ISI BIS Hallmark Certificate mark of approval on Blum's cabinet hinges feels deeply assuring and fills us with pride. This achievement validates the high regard for our already valued hinge systems.”
The Austrian brand’s hinge systems undergo rigorous internal and external testing, including up to 200,000 opening and closing cycles, demonstrating longevity for daily use. The BIS Hallmark License further reinforces this quality commitment.
Blum hinges with BIS certification also undergo a series of motion and load assessments, including durability tests with up to 6 kg of added weight, dynamic load tests with a 20 kg vertical load, horizontal abuse tests, corrosion tests based on DIN EN ISO standards, a 30 kg static load test, and a 70 N horizontal load test.
Blum’s product development approach focuses on creating long-term value for customers through continuous process improvement, innovation, and research into user needs. The accumulated expertise supports consistent, lifetime-quality performance across its systems.
