Domestic cement makers are likely to add 50 mn tonne of manufacturing capacity in 2010, taking India’s installed capacity to 300 mn tonne. Significant amount of the additional capacity will flow from factories located in southern India, owned by smaller firms, with annual capacities of 2-3 mn tonne.
