Sustainability vs productivity: Methods to reduce carbon in cement industry

The Paris Agreement of 2016 has certainly played a major role in changing priorities in government initiatives and investor interests, as well as in the rapidly increased abatement of CO2 emission among cement companies. The cement industry has been striving hard for productivity improvement and innovation to make processes more robust and efficient. Increased efficiency means less consumption of resources such as fuel and power━a key driver of sustainability.

Of course, this is nothing new. What is new, though, is the accelerated pace and sense of urgency within the industry.
