The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which has been at odds with the Narendra Modi administration for months, has launched a robust protest against the Centre's plan to sell assets of Cement Corporation of India's facility in Telangana's Adilabad district.

On May 5, the Cement Corporation of India (CCI), a central government undertaking, issued a notification inviting online electronic bids for the appointment of valuers for the valuation of assets required for the disposal of plant, machinery, plant structure, store and scrap, and quarter dismantling at its cement factories in five locations, including one in Adilabad.

TRS MLC and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter K Kavitha asked on Wednesday that the central government reverse its decision to sale the CCI plant in Adilabad.
