Coal Ministry drives clean, efficient, and green operations
During the campaign’s implementation phase, held from 2 to 31 October 2025, a total of 1,205 sites were cleaned, covering 6.8 million sq. ft., steadily progressing towards the overall target of 8.25 million sq. ft.
Notable Achievements and Best Practices Restoration of a Historic Building
The “Tally Bungalow” at Bankola Area, Eastern Coalfields Limited, built during the British era, has been restored and repurposed into a Yoga and Recreation Centre. The 80-year-old structure has been carefully renovated to preserve its architectural heritage while creating a modern wellness space for employees.
Awareness Song by NLCIL
The Mine 1A team of NLC India Limited (NLCIL) composed a Tamil awareness song with Hindi subtitles, creatively highlighting the objectives and achievements of Special Campaign 5.0. The song has helped raise awareness about cleanliness and sustainability among employees and the wider community.
VTC Portal for Contractual Workers (NCL)
Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) launched a Vocational Training Portal (VTC) on 30 September 2025, providing an end-to-end digital solution for training, evaluation, and certification of contractors’ employees. So far, 350 registrations have been completed. The platform aims to improve skill development and ensure higher safety and efficiency standards in coal operations.
Waste to Harmony Initiative (NCL)
At Jayant Area, NCL, an unused and cluttered space has been transformed into a Music Room named “Jhankaar”. This initiative promotes cultural expression, creativity, and well-being among employees and their families. The music room, equipped with various instruments, serves as a space for learning and community bonding, showcasing NCL’s commitment to employee engagement and holistic development.
Poetry and Speech Competition (MoC)
On 22 October 2025, the Ministry of Coal organised a Poetry and Speech Competition on the themes of Swachhata and the Swachh Bharat Mission. Eight participants were felicitated for their inspiring ideas and contributions towards advancing the Clean India movement.
Cyber Security Quiz Competition
A Cyber Security Quiz Competition was held on 10 October 2025, witnessing enthusiastic participation from Ministry employees. The event aimed to promote safe and responsible digital practices, aligning with the Ministry’s broader goal of fostering a secure and efficient digital workplace.
