Coal ministry seeks proposals to enhance coal sector R&D

The coal ministry has called upon academic institutions and research organisations to submit proposals for Research & Development in the coal sector.

The ministry has specified the priority areas for this work, including advanced technology and methodology to enhance production and productivity from underground and open cast mining. Additionally, the ministry seeks proposals to improve safety, health, and environmental practices, as well as waste management.

Alternative uses of coal, clean coal technologies, coal beneficiation, utilisation, exploration, innovation, and indigenisation under the Make-in-India concept are also among the key areas of focus.
