The Ministry of Mines, Government of India, will host a seminar on the Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) in Hyderabad on 16 September 2025. The launch of the sixth tranche of critical mineral blocks auction will also take place during the event.
The seminar aims to spotlight government initiatives to accelerate research, development, and innovation in critical minerals, strengthening India’s energy, technology, and strategic sectors. It will establish the NCMM’s foundation through a clear action plan, robust partnerships, and a Whole-of-Government approach.
Union Minister for Coal & Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, will chair the event and outline the roadmap for enhancing self-reliance, attracting investments, and advancing technology in critical minerals.
The event will bring together recognised Centres of Excellence (Hubs), alongside industry and R&D/academic spokes, to chart a comprehensive roadmap for advancing critical minerals research and development.
Additionally, the seminar will see the release of the Ministry of Mines–CEEW report, Making India a Hub for Critical Minerals Processing, and the presentation of awards to recognised Centres of Excellence under NCMM, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening domestic mining and supply chains in line with India’s strategic mineral objectives.
