NLCIL wins North Dhadu coal mine bid

New Delhi: NLC India Ltd (NLCIL), a state-owned enterprise, has secured the North Dhadu (Western Part) coal mine in Jharkhand through a successful bid. Holding coal reserves of 434.65 million tonnes (MT) and a peak-rated capacity of 3 MT per annum, the announcement came in a Friday statement from NLCIL.


The successful bid for the North Dhadu (Western Part) coal mine was made through a commercial coal block E-auction conducted by the Ministry of Coal on August 1, 2023, according to the statement.


NLCIL, headquartered in Tamil Nadu, administers three opencast lignite mines with a collective installed capacity of 30 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) at Neyveli
