Rashtriya Khanij Chintan Shivir 2026 Opens in Gandhinagar
The Shivir was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel along with Union Minister for Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri C. R. Patil, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha and Minister of State for Coal and Mines Shri Satish Chandra Dubey. The leaders highlighted sustainable mineral development, efficient project execution and stronger inter-departmental coordination in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant and technologically advanced India.
Ministers of Mines from various states and senior officials from central and state departments shared insights on project implementation challenges, governance issues and state-specific priorities. The sessions reviewed ongoing projects, showcased best practices and explored innovative approaches for sustainable and efficient resource utilisation.
In the evening, Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya addressed participants, underlining the objectives of the Chintan Shivir and sharing perspectives on labour code reforms to strengthen workforce management and operational governance in mining.
Day one laid a strong foundation for the Shivir, with Day two set to focus on the National Critical Mineral Mission aimed at strategic identification and utilisation of critical minerals to support long-term economic growth and the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
