Runaya Metsource, a Vedanta company focused on circular economy and waste-to-wealth solutions, is expanding its critical metals production platform with new capacities for cobalt, cadmium and copper, along with other base metals and compounds.

The company currently operates fully commissioned facilities in Rajasthan with an installed capacity of over 70,000 tonnes per annum, converting industrial residues into critical and base metals. Its expansion at Zinc Industrial Park in Rajasthan is expected to strengthen India’s cluster-driven critical metals ecosystem and support local employment.

Cobalt, cadmium and copper are key inputs for energy storage, electric vehicles, power grids, renewable energy infrastructure, electronics and data centres. Runaya said the use of advanced processes such as solvent extraction will support India’s Critical Minerals Mission and reduce import dependence.
