The Telangana Power Generation Corporation (TSGENCO) has raised concerns about the supply of low-quality coal from Singareni Collieries, which is impacting the performance of the state's thermal power plants. According to TSGENCO, the coal being delivered does not meet the designated grades, leading to operational inefficiencies and increased costs in power production.
TSGENCO officials have requested the Singareni authorities to ensure that the coal supplied meets the required quality standards, as per the agreements in place. Poor-quality coal results in reduced efficiency and higher consumption, putting additional strain on the plants’ performance.
The power corporation has emphasized the importance of high-grade coal for efficient power generation, particularly as the state faces rising demand for electricity during peak periods. TSGENCO has urged the Singareni Collieries to improve their supply consistency to avoid disruptions in power production.
