Asian Nations Rethink LNG Future as Costs Surge

The loss of about one-fifth of liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies because of the US-Iran war has sharply increased costs for developing Asian markets and prompted governments to reassess the fuel’s long-term role. Qatari shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have almost stopped since the conflict began in late February, leaving buyers without contracted supplies for power generation and industry.
