BPCL Targets December 2025 for Andhra Refinery Feasibility
The proposed refinery is planned to be established in Nellore district and will form part of BPCL’s long-term strategy to expand its refining capacity in line with India’s growing energy demand. The facility is also expected to contribute to the country’s broader goal of strengthening its position as a global refining hub.
According to BPCL, once the feasibility study is finalised, the company will initiate talks with potential foreign partners for collaboration in the refinery-cum-petrochemical project. The DFR will play a crucial role in defining the technical and financial framework necessary for such partnerships.
At present, BPCL operates three major refineries in India — located in Mumbai, Kochi, and Bina — and the planned Andhra Pradesh unit will mark its fourth refinery project. Land acquisition for the new facility is currently in progress, with BPCL working toward securing the required site to move the project into its next phase following the feasibility assessment.
