BPCL to Shut Bina Crude Unit for 15 Days in August

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will shut the sole crude unit at its 156,000 barrels-per-day Bina refinery in central India for 15 days of maintenance starting 11 August, according to Executive Director Chacko Jose.

While diesel production will be impacted during the maintenance period, gasoline output will continue through the refinery’s continuous catalytic reformer unit.

BPCL has also scheduled a 30-day shutdown in 2027 to facilitate the refinery’s planned capacity expansion to 220,000 barrels per day.

The maintenance and upcoming upgrade reflect BPCL’s efforts to optimise operations while preparing for future demand growth in India’s fuel market.
