Desco Infratech gained 1.46 per cent to close at Rs 237 after securing a Rs 39.6 million contract from GAIL Gas, a government-owned PSU. The order involves laying underground MDPE pipelines and related works as part of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The contract is set to be executed over 12 months from commencement, under the terms specified in the letter of award (LOA) issued by GAIL Gas following a domestic competitive tendering process. The company confirmed that there is no involvement of promoters, promoter group, or group companies of GAIL Gas, and the contract is not a related party transaction.

The project aligns with the central government’s push to expand natural gas infrastructure across urban India, promoting cleaner and more sustainable energy through extensive pipeline networks.

Desco Infratech specialises in engineering, planning, and construction across city gas distribution, renewable energy, water, and power sectors. For FY25, the company reported a 172.9 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 9.06 million on a 102.3 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 59.45 million compared with FY24.
