ONGC, GAIL Begin Gas Supply to Gomati CGD Network

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), in partnership with GAIL (India) Limited, has commenced the direct supply of natural gas from Palatana, Tripura, to the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in the Gomati Geographical Area (GA). The allocation was granted by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).

This development marks a major milestone in connecting the remote region of Palatana to India’s expanding CGD infrastructure, furthering the Government of India’s North-East Vision. The initiative aims to strengthen energy accessibility and promote cleaner fuel alternatives in underserved regions.

The direct gas supply will support both residential and commercial users in the Gomati region, contributing to reduced dependence on conventional fuels and enabling more sustainable growth in the North-East. ONGC and GAIL’s collaboration underlines their shared commitment to expanding the reach of natural gas as a clean and efficient energy source across India.
