Statcon Energiaa Wins Order for IOCL Green Hydrogen Project

Statcon Energiaa (SEPL) has secured an order from L&T Electrolysers to supply high-power rectifiers for the 10 kTPA green hydrogen project being developed at Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOCL) Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Haryana.

Being developed by L&T Energy GreenTech, the facility is slated for commissioning by December 2027 and is expected to be India’s largest green hydrogen plant for a refinery. The project marks the first major step towards IOCL’s target of producing 350 kTPA of green hydrogen by 2030.

Under the order, Statcon Energiaa will supply indigenously manufactured 4 MW rectifier blocks to power L&T’s high-pressure alkaline electrolysers, which are being manufactured at the company’s Hazira facility in Gujarat.

The rectifiers will employ IGBT chopper-based technology backed by AEG Power Solutions, Germany, and will be designed, assembled, commissioned and serviced in India by Statcon Energiaa under an exclusive licensing and supply agreement.

The liquid-cooled rectifiers are engineered to provide low-ripple DC output, handle power variability from renewable sources and ensure sustained round-the-clock operation. Each 4 MW rectifier block has been designed to match L&T’s 4 MW electrolyser modules, creating an integrated indigenous architecture for large-scale green hydrogen production.

According to the company, the project reinforces India's efforts towards building a self-reliant green hydrogen ecosystem under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Anil Dhar, Marketing Director, Statcon Energiaa, said, “This order represents exactly what Statcon Energiaa has always stood for – delivering world-class technology, made in India, for India’s most critical infrastructure. For a company that has believed in Make in India since before it was a policy, this is a proud moment.”

Statcon Energiaa has previously supplied rectifiers for the NTPC Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Leh and has executed multiple green hydrogen projects across the country.
