Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Reports Strong Q4 And FY26 Sales
Domestic passenger vehicle volumes for the quarter were 198,743 units compared with 146,127 units in the year ago quarter, reflecting a 36 per cent increase, while international business volumes for the quarter rose to 2,625 units from 872 units. Electric vehicle volumes for the quarter stood at 26,931 units, up 69 per cent year on year, and annual EV volumes were 92,120 units, up 43 per cent for the year. Total domestic and international sales for the quarter were 201,368 units versus 146,999 units last year.
The company said FY26 was a landmark year with highest ever annual sales of over 0.64 million (mn) units and industry-beating growth, driven by a broad SUV portfolio and multi-powertrain strategy. It highlighted strong performance in compressed natural gas powertrains with sales exceeding 0.17 mn units in the year and international re-entry that supported volumes of over 10,000 units.
Management noted that consumer preference for greener technologies gained momentum with CNG volumes growing around 20 per cent and that EV adoption at industry level surpassed 200,000 units, driven by improving consumer confidence and new product introductions. Looking ahead the company expects to build on the second half momentum and continue industry-beating growth in FY27 supported by recent launches and a strong product pipeline while monitoring geopolitical developments for potential supply side risks.
