Suzlon has joined the global EV100 initiative by Climate Group, pledging to transition its entire vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2035. The wind power major has also committed to powering all its facilities with 100 per cent renewable energy by 2030.

EV100 is a global initiative that brings together leading companies committed to accelerating the adoption of electric transport and making EVs the new normal by 2030.

Under this commitment, Suzlon will electrify 655 vehicles across its operations, including both owned and leased vehicles in select categories. The move directly supports the reduction of Scope 1 emissions, as outlined in Suzlon’s ESG commitments for 2035, which arise from direct sources such as its vehicular fleet.

By promoting responsible sourcing and supplier partnerships, Suzlon aims to achieve Net Zero well ahead of its targets. The company is the first Indian renewable energy firm to join EV100, highlighting its leadership in climate action. These commitments are central to Suzlon’s decarbonisation strategy, including its target to reach Net Zero Scope 1 emissions by 2035.

With over 21 gigawatts (GW) of wind energy capacity installed across 17 countries, Suzlon operates R&D centres in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and India, alongside world-class manufacturing facilities in India.
