Tata Power to set up logistic arm

Tata Power plans to set up its own logistics arm to meet coal needs of Mundra ultra mega power projects (UMPP). The company currently operates logistics via its Singapore subsidiary Trust Energy. The primary rationale for Trust Energy is to secure coal supply and shipping of coal for Tata Power' s thermal power generation operations.The company aims to supply coal from Indonesia to Mundra UMPP. Tata requires eight ships to transport coal to the project.
