ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ACME Solar) has commissioned an additional 35.715 MW / 160.512 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Village Jaimalsar in District Bikaner, Rajasthan, strengthening its energy storage footprint. The capacity was added through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Surya Power Private Limited and was commissioned on 11 May 2026 with a commercial operation date set for 13 May 2026. The company reported the update under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.\n\nWith the new addition the firm’s cumulative commissioned BESS capacity now stands at 210.938 MW / 947.899 MWh, enhancing its ability to provide grid services. The expanded storage portfolio is intended to support grid stability, facilitate efficient integration of renewable generation and assist with peak load management. The deployment is presented as part of a broader strategy to bolster energy security and system resilience.\n\nBattery Energy Storage Systems play a central role in managing intermittency associated with solar and other variable generation, and the company views large scale BESS as essential to India’s transition to a cleaner power system. The Rajasthan project demonstrates the operational scaling of storage assets at regional level and is expected to enable more predictable power flows from renewable projects. The subsidiary will operate the facility to deliver ancillary services and time shifting of solar output.\n\nIndustry observers note that continued investment in storage capacity will be necessary to meet rising renewable penetration and maintain grid reliability, and ACME Solar’s commissioning is part of that trend. The firm is positioning itself to capitalise on growing demand for integrated solar and storage solutions across the country.
