ACME Solar Holdings has announced the procurement of over 3.1 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment from global suppliers Zhejiang Narada and Trina Storage, marking one of the largest battery storage orders placed in India to date.

The Gurugram-based renewable energy firm stated that the BESS units will be deployed across multiple Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) and battery-linked projects scheduled for commissioning over the next 12 to 18 months in several Indian states. Deliveries are set to commence within four to eight months of the current financial year, in phased shipments.

ACME Solar confirmed that the order value remains within the company’s budget while maintaining a strong focus on technical performance and vendor reliability. Early procurement, it said, would help accelerate project execution and improve revenue timelines.

The procured BESS equipment complies with global standards, including IEC and UL certifications for safety, reliability, and performance. The systems are intended to strengthen grid stability and support the growing integration of renewables in India’s power sector.

ACME Solar currently manages a diversified portfolio totalling 6,970 megawatts (MW) of capacity, including 550 megawatt-hours (MWh) of energy storage, encompassing solar, wind, hybrid, and FDRE solutions. Of this, 2,890 MW is operational, with 4,080 MW in various stages of development. The company oversees the complete project lifecycle—from engineering and procurement to operations—through its in-house EPC and O&M divisions.

At 11:30 am on the NSE, shares of ACME Solar Holdings were trading at Rs 255.80, up Rs 6.23 or 2.50 per cent.
