ACME Wins SECI Bid To Supply 100,000 TPA Green Ammonia

ACME Cleantech Solutions has secured Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to supply 100,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green ammonia under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme, Mode-2A-Tranche-I.
ACME quoted a tariff of Rs 54.73 per kg to win the auction, slightly higher than the Rs 51.89 per kg tariff it previously bid in an earlier SECI tender. The green ammonia will be supplied for a period of ten years to the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) at Kandla, Gujarat.
The tender, initially floated in June 2024 and later amended, requires ACME to establish production facilities, identify and acquire land, secure approvals and permits, and manage all logistics for production, storage, and delivery to SECI’s designated point. The awarded capacity must be produced and supplied directly, with no trading or arbitrage allowed, though ACME may source up to 10 per cent of annual capacity from third parties.
The green ammonia can be produced using renewable energy from co-located or remotely located projects, either owned by ACME or a third party, or procured from power exchanges.
Earlier, ACME won SECI’s auction to supply 75,000 TPA of green ammonia annually to Paradeep Phosphates in Odisha at a tariff of Rs 55.7 per kg for ten years.
The development comes under the government’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in 2023 with an initial outlay of Rs 197.44 billion. Of this, Rs 174.9 billion has been allocated to the SIGHT programme, with the remainder directed towards pilot projects, R&D, and other mission components.
