Adani Green Crosses 15 GW In Renewable Capacity
Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has exceeded 15 gigawatts (GW) of operational
renewable capacity, reaching 15,539.9 megawatts (MW). The portfolio
now comprises about 11,005.5 MW of solar installations, 1,977.8 MW of
standalone wind assets, and 2,556.6 MW of wind‑solar hybrid
projects.
Chief executive Ashish Khanna
hailed the milestone as “a moment of immense pride”, crediting the achievement to the company’s workforce, investors and partners. AGEL has
pledged to accelerate from the current 15 GW towards 50 GW
by the end of the decade, underpinning its mission to deliver affordable,
sustainable energy in India and abroad.
At today’s scale, the operating fleet can
power roughly 7.9 million Indian homes each year while avoiding an estimated 31 million tonnes
of carbon‑dioxide emissions. AGEL’s expansion plan will extend renewable electricity to thirteen
states, with a goal of supplying the entire north‑eastern region solely through
clean power.
