Adani Green Operationalises 292 MW Solar Plant in Khavda

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has operationalised a 292 megawatt (MW) solar project at Khavda in Gujarat through its wholly owned subsidiary Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A Limited. The decision to commence operations was taken at 7:37 pm on 22 April 2026 after the company received the requisite approvals and clearances. The project is expected to start generating power from 23 April 2026.

With this addition the company's total operational renewable energy capacity has reached 19,585.8 MW and its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) capacity now stands at 1,376 megawatt hours (MWh). This increase reflects AGEL's continued emphasis on building an integrated portfolio of solar generation and storage to support a more reliable and sustainable electricity supply. The development forms part of the company’s wider plan to expand renewable capacity across India and strengthen its presence in the clean energy sector. The combined assets are intended to support grid flexibility and firming services that assist integration of variable renewable generation.

The company made the requisite regulatory disclosures to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited in line with Securities and Exchange Board of India guidelines, and the filing was executed by the company secretary. The formal notification to exchanges followed internal approvals and compliance checks, indicating adherence to regulatory protocols. Regulatory filings will serve as the formal record for capacity registration and performance reporting.

The Khavda Renewable Energy Zone continues to emerge as a focal point for large scale solar deployment in Gujarat, and the new project bolsters local and national capacity targets without introducing additional fossil fuel generation. AGEL's move is consistent with recent capacity additions at Khavda earlier in the year and underlines the company’s strategy of consolidating utility scale projects through its subsidiaries to meet growing demand for clean energy.
