Adani Wins Rs 250 billion Order for Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC Project

Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) has clinched its largest order yet, valued at Rs 250 billion, for the Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) project. This win increases the company's order book to Rs 547.61 billion.

The project, won through competitive bidding, will play a pivotal role in facilitating the transmission of 6 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan to northern India, boosting AESL's transmission network significantly. The company will execute the project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis, with completion expected in about four and a half years.

This new addition will expand AESL's transmission network to 25,778 circuit kilometers and 84,186 MVA transformation capacity. The Bhadla-Fatehpur project is the third major project for AESL after the Mundra-Mahendragarh and Aarey-Kudus projects, which are currently under implementation.

Additionally, AESL has acquired a 100% stake in Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, further enhancing its transmission capacity in the region.

In a company statement, CEO Kandarp Patel emphasised that the project will contribute to India's decarbonization journey by efficiently evacuating renewable energy from Rajasthan's remote areas and connecting them to the national grid.
