The Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme was officially launched today by Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, during a national roll-out event at Arya P.G. College, Panipat, Haryana. This landmark initiative supports India’s low-carbon transition by enabling Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt energy-efficient technologies through robust financial and technical assistance.

With a total outlay of Rs 10 billion, the scheme—spearheaded by the Ministry of Power and implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)—offers end-to-end support, including interest subvention, energy audits, detailed project reports (DPRs), and post-implementation monitoring. Micro and Small Enterprises are eligible for 5 per cent interest subvention, while Medium Enterprises can avail 3 per cent, ensuring affordable financing for energy efficiency projects.

At the event, Shri Manohar Lal inaugurated the ADEETIE portal (adeetie.beeindia.gov.in) and released the official scheme brochure. Emphasising the MSME sector's importance in India’s economic growth, he underlined the role of renewables, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Technologies supported under ADEETIE are projected to reduce energy consumption in MSMEs by 30–50 per cent, enhance power-to-product ratios, and aid in creating green energy corridors.

“ADEETIE is a transformative step towards empowering Indian industries, especially MSMEs, to become globally competitive through sustainable practices,” said Shri Lal, highlighting its alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, highlighted BEE’s crucial role in scaling energy efficiency efforts nationwide. The initial rollout will target 14 energy-intensive sectors and 60 industrial clusters. He also stressed the importance of supportive policy and financing to position MSMEs as climate action leaders.

Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Haryana, Shri A.K. Singh, urged MSMEs to actively participate in the scheme and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Shri Akash Tripathi, Additional Secretary and Director General, BEE, noted that Rs 8.75 billion has been earmarked for interest subvention, Rs 500 million for energy audits, and Rs 750 million for implementation support. The scheme is expected to mobilise Rs 90 billion in investments, including Rs 67.5 billion in MSME lending.

The event also included testimonials from MSMEs that piloted the scheme and signed MoUs with industry associations. Appreciation certificates were distributed to early adopters.
