AMPIN Energy Transition Secures $100 mn Investment from Norfund
The investment forms part of AMPIN’s plan to reach 10 GWp of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030. The company is developing a portfolio that combines solar and wind generation with storage systems to improve the reliability and availability of renewable power.
Norfund estimates that its investment could mobilise up to $700 mn in private capital. The capital is expected to be deployed through a combination of equity and loans for projects developed by AMPIN Energy Transition.
The projects supported by the investment are estimated to avoid around 3.1 mn tonnes of carbon emissions annually once they become operational. The planned capacity will contribute to India’s expansion of renewable generation and energy storage infrastructure.
In August 2026, AMPIN Energy Transition achieved financial close on a $195 mn long-term project finance facility for a 100 MW hybrid renewable energy project in Andhra Pradesh. The facility is intended to support the project, which combines renewable generation technologies and forms part of the company’s broader expansion in India.
The latest investment strengthens AMPIN’s access to capital for utility-scale renewable energy development. Its planned additions through 2028 will include solar and wind projects supported by energy storage, while the longer-term target is intended to take its installed capacity to 10 GWp by 2030.
