Andhra, Schneider Electric Partner to Boost Skill Training Infra
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric India Foundation to upgrade skill training infrastructure and equip youth with future-ready capabilities. The partnership, announced by State IT and Human Resources Minister Nara Lokesh, supports the state’s ambition to prepare a globally competitive workforce.
The agreement was signed between the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and Schneider Electric in Amaravati. It aims to enhance skilling in fields such as electronics, green energy, industrial automation, and construction.
By 2027, 20 advanced laboratories will be set up in government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), polytechnic colleges, and other institutions across the state. These centres will feature world-class electrical, solar, and automation equipment.
Schneider Electric, a French multinational company, will invest Rs 50 Mn in lab equipment, consumables, digital content, and a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme. More than 9,000 youth will be trained and placed across key sectors.
In addition, a Rs 150 Mn Centre of Excellence will be established in Mangalagiri for high-end training and international certifications. A Research and Innovation Centre will also be launched in Anantapuram and Alluri Sitharama Raju districts to pilot a power optimisation model.
