Andhra Pradesh Cancels Two Adani Hydro Projects

The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday issued an order cancelling two Pumped Hydro Storage Power (PHSP) projects proposed by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) at Kurukutti and Karrivalasa villages in Parvathipuram Manyam district, citing local issues and operational constraints.
The decision follows a recommendation from the Vice-Chairman of the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), who highlighted the difficulties in conducting surveys and investigations due to ongoing border disputes in the region.
The order clarified that AGEL bore no fault in the matter and had itself requested withdrawal from the projects. The cancellation was formally approved during the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting held on 17 July.
