APCPDCL Synchronises 50,114 Rooftop Solar Connections
APCPDCL added 43,625 connections over the past year, taking the total to 50,114 and reflecting the corporation's commitment to promoting renewable energy and clean power generation. The achievement was attributed to concerted efforts by officers, engineers and field staff, alongside extensive consumer awareness campaigns and continuous guidance from the application stage to grid synchronisation. Proactive coordination at every level was cited as a key factor in accelerating uptake.
Daily review meetings with empanelled vendors were reported to have helped resolve issues promptly, ensured smooth execution of installations and accelerated project implementation. The dedicated work of field staff, close monitoring by senior officers and effective vendor coordination were said to have played a central role in reaching the milestone. The chairman congratulated the Director (Projects), TVSN Murthy, the Projects Wing and others for their contributions.
The corporation stated that it will continue to accelerate rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, contribute to the state's renewable energy goals and enable consumers to reduce their electricity bills through clean and sustainable energy. The central scheme aims to light up 10 mn households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity each month. The synchronisation of 50,114 connections and the cumulative 180 MW capacity were presented as evidence of growing household participation in the continuing energy transition.
