Bajel, NIIF and AnantGrid Collaborate on Power Transmission Projects

Bajel Projects (Bajel), part of the Bajaj Group and a key player in India’s power EPC sector, has signed a collaboration agreement with National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and AnantGrid Private to jointly explore opportunities in the country’s power transmission sector.

The collaboration aligns with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and the growing need for robust transmission infrastructure to support renewable integration and rising electricity demand.

Under the framework, the partners aim to participate in power transmission opportunities emerging from the Government of India’s push for grid modernisation, renewable energy expansion and increased private sector participation.

The partnership will combine NIIF’s investment and asset management capabilities, AnantGrid’s expertise in business development and project management, and Bajel’s engineering and execution capabilities to deliver high-quality and cost-efficient power transmission projects across India.

Rajesh Ganesh, MD & CEO, Bajel Projects, said the collaboration is intended to capitalise on the significant growth opportunities in India’s transmission sector while enabling the company to contribute to strengthening the national grid.

Bimal Dayal, CEO, AnantGrid, noted that power transmission remains central to India’s energy transition and rising electricity demand, and that the partnership with Bajel will support the development of reliable transmission assets and expansion of the country’s grid network.

Avener Capital acted as the sole financial advisor to Bajel for the collaboration with NIIF and AnantGrid.
