Bharat Electricity 2026 Eyes Rs 450 Billion Investment Pipeline

Bharat Electricity, POWERGEN India and Indian Utility Week 2026 are expected to help advance a potential Rs 450 billion investment and partnership pipeline through 2032, covering power generation, transmission, storage, distribution, digitalisation and domestic manufacturing.

The three-day event, scheduled from 1-3 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi, IICC, New Delhi, will bring together central ministries, state governments, utilities, technology companies, investors and global energy majors. The Rs 450 billion estimate reflects the potential value of projects, technology procurement, joint ventures, manufacturing proposals and strategic collaborations expected to be progressed through the platform.

Representatives from the Ministries of Power, New and Renewable Energy, Heavy Industries, Electronics and Information Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Coal and MSME are expected to participate. Institutions including NITI Aayog, the Central Electricity Authority and Invest India will also be represented.

The Government of NCT of Delhi will participate as Host State, while Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal and Bihar are expected to participate as Focus States. These states will showcase policy frameworks, project pipelines and investment opportunities across renewable energy, grids, storage, utility modernisation and clean-energy manufacturing.

Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Honorary Chairman, Bharat Electricity Council, said India’s next power-sector investment cycle would require greater coordination between generation, transmission, renewable energy, storage, digitalisation and cyber resilience.

Participants are expected to include NTPC, NLC India, Coal India, Grid Controller of India, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam, Bihar State Power Holding Company, BSES utilities, CESC, Tata Power Delhi Distribution, ReNew, EDF, Schneider Electric, Toshiba JSW Power Systems and Kirloskar Brothers.

International companies and delegations from North America, Europe, Africa and Asia are also expected to explore opportunities in technology transfer, manufacturing and investment, with focus areas including grid technologies, storage, intelligent utilities, green hydrogen, e-mobility and resilient supply chains.

The event will feature a Strategic Summit, exhibition, Knowledge Hub, state investment engagements and curated business meetings under the theme “Shaping Energy Sovereignty • Building Climate Resilience • Powering Viksit Bharat.
