BHEL secures Rs 950 bn order from NTPC for 1,600 MW thermal project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has settled a significant contract valued at over Rs 950 billion from the prominent power entity NTPC. The project entails establishing a 1,600 MW Singrauli thermal power project (Stage II).
On 5 March 2024, BHEL announced that it "received an order from NTPC for setting up the Singrauli Super Thermal Power Project, Stage III (2x800 MW) in Sonebhadra District, Uttar Pradesh."
The engineering giant anticipates completing Unit 1 within 50 months and Unit 2 in 54 months. The comprehensive scope of the order encompasses equipment supply, erection and commissioning, and civil works.
This collaboration underscores BHEL's continued prowess in executing large-scale projects within the power sector, further cementing its position as a leading provider of engineering solutions in the country.
