CESC Green Power Plans Rs 5,000 Crore Clean Energy Push

CESC Green Power, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CESC Ltd under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, is set to invest Rs 5,000 crore across multiple clean energy initiatives, including a 3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant.
According to an exchange filing, the company is developing solar cell/module facilities and ancillary manufacturing units across various locations in India. The projects include battery manufacturing, a 60 MW renewable energy power plant, and other supporting units, with the total capital outlay estimated at Rs 5,000 crore.
CESC Ltd has committed to providing financial backing to ensure successful closure and execution of the projects. Support will encompass equity infusion, strategic guidance, and facilitation of institutional funding.
Headquartered in Kolkata, CESC is engaged in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity, and this initiative reflects its strategic expansion into renewable energy.
