Gensol wins Rs 6 billion contract for 116 MW Gujarat solar projects

Gensol Engineering Ltd has won a bid for a series of solar projects in Gujarat, totalling 116 MW (150 MWp), with an estimated EPC revenue of Rs 6 billion. These projects will be managed by the state electricity distribution company, Paschim Gujarat Vij Co. Ltd. (PGVCL), and will be distributed across 27 locations. The solar projects are part of an initiative focused on feeder-level solarisation and are expected to become operational within 12 months from the issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA). This initiative aims to solarize agricultural feeders, specifically those that are already segregated or primarily serve agricultural loads, to meet their annual power requirements with grid-connected solar projects. Gensol Engineering, established in 2012, has made a significant impact in the renewable energy sector, specialising in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, along with electric mobility solutions. The company has successfully executed over 770 MW of diverse solar projects across nearly all states of India. In addition to its core EPC services, Gensol Engineering expanded its portfolio by acquiring Scorpius Trackers in September 2023, enhancing its offerings in the renewable energy sector. The company has also set up a state-of-the-art electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, with a capacity to produce 30,000 vehicles annually. (Source:ET)
