Goa Secures Power Stability with NTPC Pact

The Goa Electricity Department has signed a key power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC to draw electricity from the Sipat Stage-III thermal plant in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes represented Goa during the signing held at Panaji.
This agreement is set to strengthen Goa’s power infrastructure and ensure a consistent electricity supply, as highlighted in a statement by the Union Ministry of Power.
Goa, which currently has no local power generation capacity, depends entirely on the central grid. The NTPC pact aims to enhance reliability for domestic, industrial, and commercial users.
